Deadlines 2026
- 30 June 2026: if you send the documents back to us by post (paper return or paper form to modify the proposed simplified return).
- 15 July 2026: if you use MyMinfin (Tax-on-web) (to submit your tax return or modify your proposed simplified return).
- 16 October 2026: if you use MyMinfin (Tax-on-web) to submit your tax return and you declare specific income (income from a self-employed activity, foreign professional income ...).
Return or proposed simplified return
In theory, you must submit a tax return every year.
If your tax situation is not too complicated, meaning you only have to declare certain income and items, we will make it easy for you: you will probably receive a ‘proposed simplified return'. If you have received a proposed simplified return, in theory, you no longer need to submit a tax return. Always check your pre-filled data.
- If the details of this proposal are correct and complete, you do not need to take any further action.
- If the details of this proposal are incorrect or incomplete, you will have to modify the proposal.
If you haven’t received a proposed simplified return, you will have to submit a tax return.
In any case, you can easily deal with the necessary formalities online via MyMinfin (Tax-on-web).

Have someone else fill out your tax return as from 28 April
You can ask someone close to you (family, friend …) to fill out your tax return online on your behalf through a secure mandate system.
Would you like our staff to fill out your tax return?
- Please book an appointment online as soon as possible for assistance with filling out your tax return over the phone. After 29 June 2026, we will no longer be able to assist you.
- You will find the information to make an appointment on the envelope of your tax return or in the letter from the FPS Finance explaining how to submit your tax return. You will receive this letter in April or May.
- If a staff member filled out your tax return last year, we may contact you by text message or phone in April or May with a proposal to make an appointment.
It is also possible to have your tax return filled out by an accountant. Please contact your accounting office in good time.
