Where is your parcel?

Have you purchased something online and found out via track & trace or in a message that your parcel is at customs? This is not the case. Your parcel is not at customs, but in the premises of the courier service.  Customs cannot tell you when you will receive your parcel.  If you want to know when your parcel will be delivered, you need to contact the courier service.
  • Your parcel's journey, from purchase to delivery

    1. Online purchase

You purchase something online on a foreign webshop. After the purchase, you will receive a track & trace number so you can track your parcel.

    2. Your parcel arrives in Belgium

Your parcel arrives at the courier service, which keeps it in its own premises.

    3. Belgian track & trace number

The courier service will create a Belgian track & trace number and notify you.

    4. Courier service provides customs clearance

The courier service has to declare your parcel to customs. In order to do so, they file a clearance declaration. The courier service will calculate how much import duty, VAT and any other duties you have to pay. If you have any questions about this, please contact them. Customs cannot help you. Read more about additional (customs) fees when ordering online outside the EU.

    5. Customs checks the declaration

When customs suspects something is wrong, they check the contents of the parcel in the courier service's warehouse. They check for goods that you are not allowed to import or export. If this is the case, the goods may be destroyed or sent back to the country of origin. When everything is in order, the goods are released for distribution.

    6. Courier service handles and delivers your parcel

This may take some time. During this period, you can contact your courier service and ask them about the status of your parcel.
