You can apply for an electronic identity card at the Belgian embassy or consulate in your country of residence.
I have a national electronic means of identification coming from an EU Member State (for instance, an identity card)
You can currently use MyMinfin with a national electronic means of identification coming from one of the following countries::
- Austria
- Czech Republic
- Croatia
- Denmark
- Estonia
- Germany
- Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
- Italy
- Latvia
- Liechtenstein
- Lithuania
- Malta
- The Netherlands
- Portugal
- Poland
- Slovakia
- Slovenia
- Spain
- Sweden
During your first identification via eIDAS, you will need:
- Your national electronic identification means
- Your Belgian national registration number or your Belgian bis number
- Your e-mail address
- And your phone number.

I am in another situation but I live in or can go to Belgium
If you are in Belgium or if you can go to this country: even without a European identity card, you can get access to the online service of the administration. To this end, make an appointment with the nearest local registration office and follow the procedure. We recommend that you activate the digital key 'security code sent by e-mail', this key is easy to use and secure.
